Homeless Students and
Families In Transition (FIT)
Fans Across America Charitable Foundation (Fans) is an all volunteer 501 (c) (3) Exempt Foundation based in Chandler, Arizona assisting with temporary daily living necessities to Chandler Unified School District Homeless Students and Families in Transition, Chandler CARE center, ICAN, other Valley School District and Social Service Agencies.
On any given day School Districts are faced with hundreds of Students that are classified in some degree as Homeless as well as hundreds of Families in Transition that have a child either in Pre-School or full-time students. Chandler Unified School District as of August 22, 2011, had 517 Homeless Students and 238 Homeless Families in Transition with students attending Chandler Public Schools.
A great majority of these students and their families are victims of economic hardships and are often living in temporary transition housing, sub standard conditions, shelters, shared housing, motels, or with friends.
Working together, Fans Across America and "FIT" are able to maximize resources to provide even greater support to the families in need that each serve.
Unfortunately we are witnessing the "Now Poor," many families that were once economically secure in their recent past but as a result of the hard economic times have lost careers, homes, possessions and have depleted all savings and personal resources just to survive. There is one common goal however, keeping their children in school for they know the value of an education.
Fans Across America established the "Fans Locker Room," in Chandler, Arizona to serve as the Foundations acceptance, processing and distribution center for donated clothes (infants to adults), toiletries, dental hygiene items, household items, school supplies, small appliances, and any other items to temporary assist these students and families with their basic daily living necessities. Coordinating with the Chandler Unified School District, Chandler CARE center, ICAN and other Valley School Districts; Fans is able to distribute donated items to the students and families in need.
Being all volunteer Foundation Fans relies on monetary and item donations from individuals, businesses, corporate sponsorships, civic organization drives and fund raisers.
